Sony debuted two main types: the LA-series has a 19-inch widescreen display and wireless keyboard and the LB series has a 15.4-inch widescreen display and attached keyboard. The keyboard on the latter model is the main body hinge just below the screen and can be folded to most of the display when not in use cover. This is reminiscent of the Vaio W and M machines that Sony has sold in the past. The LA machines are available in two hardware configurations. Both include a TV recording function, 512MB memory and a 200GB hard drive. They differ in the choice of processor: One features an Intel Core Duo T2300 processor and the other an Intel Celeron M 420 processor. The basic configuration for the LB machines has Celeron M 420 processor, 512 MB memory and an 80GB hard drive – but no TV recording function.

The Intel Core Duo La machine costs about $ 2110, the Celeron M-based LA machine will cost around $ 1860 and the LB machine cost about $ 1520. All three will be available in Japan from April 22. Sales of the machines overseas is still pending, says Sony. None of the 41 machines supports the Blu-ray Disc format that a group of companies led by Sony is coming on as a replacement for DVD for high-definition movies. Sony said at the CeBIT show in Germany last month that he hopes to Vaio desktop and laptop computers with Blu-ray Disc support on sale worldwide in the middle of this year put. On Wednesday the company said that machines would be available in the U.S. in “early summer” and would not comment on a launch time for other markets.

Besides the all-new X-series Vaio, Sony introducedc a nice all-in-one desktop PC with a nice 24”Full HD LCD touchscreen on their press conference. As a reminder, the L-series is equipped with a Core 2 Duo processor E7500 (2.93 GHz), a 24 inch widescreen display (1920×1080), 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, an NVIDIA GeForce GPU G210M, Wifi b / g / n, Blu-ray recorder, two TV tuners, webcams and Bluetooth.

Nice specs, but I think everyone is more interested in the screen, Sony’s first touchscreen PC, the general specs And it works well! Very responsive and accurate with multi-touch gestures. The 24′’scherm, Media Gallery, you can enjoy your pictures and play with them. Really nice, really stylish, I love something in my front. Of course you can enjoy your music, and choose the music you want to listen just by tapping cover, choose TV programs. But as with any glossy screen, the L-series and probably not forgive some major finger print spots. Regarding the price, it is 240,000 Yen, or € 1840. [via pcworld]
