Acer Ferrari 200 Speed Netbook Sector
Cooperation between Acer and Ferrari tradition: Acer sponsors Scuderia and then uses the famous prancing horse logo on selected high-performance notebooks. Acer now wants to speed netbook sector, and draws attention to the reputation of Italy again. We had a closer look at pre-release model Acer Ferrari One 200th

Time with the release of Windows 7 to 22 October this year, the red netbook should be available in stores. Acer plans to provide several options, which should be differentiated only with regard to their communication functions such as Bluetooth and UMTS, not the processor or video card: CPU Athlon X2 AMD 310 with 1.2 GHz clock speed and pixel calculations are performed ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics chip on the board. Acer Ferrari 200 offers one of 499 euros. Naturally, the netbook bearing the name of the appropriate color scheme Ferarri Ferrari-Red, and thus the people writing on the function keys, as well as several lighting accents are “rosso”. Power button in the upper right corner above the keyboard lights up in the typical red color. In two places of the famous Ferrari logo was additionally integrated: in the middle of the lid and the bottom right in the other rest.
With a weight of 1.5 kilograms Ferrari One is pleasantly light, and Acer engineers also saved space, neither height is 2.5 cm measured in the thinnest point. Chassis Recalls soon tested Acer Aspire 1810TZ Timeline, which we have very nice memories: everything was built firmly on 1810TZ that the design was nice to look at, the materials are pleasing, and nothing rattled or twisted. And a Ferrari seems to be no errors at first glance: The keyboard sits firmly and do not bend over, and chassis can be characterized as rigid. The only minor weakness is the display lid, which allows gentle pressure over the back of the display.
Trailers are firmly set and difficult to open netbook with one hand, but it holds the display without teetering in one position. Above the keyboard, a large hole gapes open when the battery was removed because the battery has been fully integrated into the structure, and is located on the bottom of the case. The proposal has been somewhat refined, unlike 1810TZ: with rounded edges, handball relax with a nice checkered pattern, chrome-plated button touchpad and a few red accents on the sides, Acer built a pretty sporty, but not too stylized netbook.

1810TZ again sends his greetings, as all connections are located on both sides of the Ferrari 200 One netbook: right front to back is a 5-in-1 memory card reader that can read SD, MMC, Memory Sticks and Memory Stick Pro xD Picture Card followed by a 3.5 mm headphone output, as well as microphone, 2 USB 2.0 ports, power supply, Kensington Lock-and LAN port with an elegant red edge. On the left side of Acer emplaced another USB port, vent, as well as the VGA port on the far back, again with red accents. Between the vent and VGA port is located, one of the great features of this pre-release model: xgp (external Graphic Platform) port to which it is possible to connect an external graphics box that contains a powerful graphics card.
It is possible to achieve significantly higher graphics performance, such as games, little netbook. Acer may be called the content of these graphic box as Radeon HD4670, but also states that free market is not yet certain. It will be interesting to see whether the port xgp will really build into the final version of the Ferrari 200 One. A similar concept was once also were with, Fujitsu Amilo Booster – Find extensive here.
Acer has built a connection and candles on Ferrari One such way that all cables should be automatically redirected to the back, and not undermine the right or left-handed. In this regard, the power adapter has a right-angle connector with cable, leaving the lead on the back. Something that will probably not be a standard USB plug when … Since there are USB socket on both sides, should not be a problem to connect a mouse for left-handers. Even if one would live with the flow of air from the interior netbook, which is evident hardely with test equipment in the medium loads.
One point for criticism of the Acer 1810TZ the touchpad, which was difficult to find haptically as soon defined itself from the hand rest area. Due to change in design, it is no longer a problem with One Ferrari 200: the touchpad is optically and haptically easily discernable from the surrounding area. Acer has decided to narrow slightly forward design, with continuous chrome button with a “Ferrari One” engraved. Touchpad can be described as a smooth-running and pleasant, and supports various gestures with which you can move and zoom and turn pages in some applications.

Also, the keyboard feels comfortable: The chiclet design with large keys and small individual separates gives a good feeling when writing. Many special features that may be mentioned in conjunction with the “Fn” key, are highlighted in red on the keys to remain faithful to the proposal. As a little special features, is a red Ferrari logo depicted on the “F10″ key. Users who promise themselves turbo-mode for the processor and graphics card by pressing a combination of “Fn” + “F10″ will be dissapointed: this key combination only directs the website Ferrari – Hurray! Acer chosen for the display bright 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 pixels, resulting in a ratio of 16:9. As with all devices, Acer uses a LED backlight panel. This technology should provide even more light while using less energy .
Our first impression was positive screen: colors are sharp contrasts are good spots, which may occur due to improper lighting, are not perceived. Since Acer has equipped One Ferrari 200 glossy display, outdoor use in sunny weather proves quite difficult, even in closed areas may be distracting reflections, which was already evident in pre-release model. Horizontal viewing angle is quite large, we could see the unaltered image from almost any angle. Vertical viewing angle to come off slightly worse but still satisfactory. For the purposes Ferraripower AMD Athlon 64 X2 L310 processor frequency 1.2 GHz, dual-core is installed. Acer has opted for energy-saving dual-core processor in the Aspire 1810TZ, even though Intel, and achieved good performance.
Responsible for graphic calculations, the Radeon HD3200 GPU, which is integrated into the chipset that borrows a maximum 512 MB of system RAM. Performance scores for this video card is slightly better than, say, a popular Intels integrated graphics solutions 4500MHD, but hardly sufficient for today’s demanding games and graphics work. For someone who occasionally plays older games and wants to watch family videos, should be adequate performance. As already mentioned, xgp port lets you connect an external graphics box, which will provide more gaming performance on external displays. The name ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 current games should run smooth with good graphics quality. For more information on which games could be played, you can see from our list of games.
This allows the entire RAM to be used when the caution: there is no corresponding 64-bit drivers for all hardware at this time. One should therefore check with the manufacturer in advance to make sure that the necessary drivers for your scanner, printer or others are already available. Apropos Windows 7, we checked out the Windows Experience Index on the pre-release model, which, like Vista, the degree of power netbook by various tests: in contrast with a maximum score of 7.9 of our system to reach a total of 2.9. As the main storage device HT 545025BA9300 Hitachi SATA hard drive with 5400 rpm. / Min and 250 GB is installed.
During the presentation, a fan of One Ferrari 200 pre-version of the model was barely hearable. However, we were not able to subject netbook with brakes. In this respect, the comprehensive examination to demonstrate that the device also remains calm in difficult conditions. Hard disk was as unnoticeable, and made his work almost entirely silent. When running for office applications netbook feels cool, not perceivable either heating up or down. In this case, will also require compliance test to determine whether a Ferrari 200 is also cooled even under demanding conditions.
The speakers are located under the front edge and are certified by Dolby, but still sound quite thin, at least for the tested device. A few bass and relatively quiet volume could be bearable, but the location at the bottom to keep the sound radiates away from the user, which could be problematic especially when using mobile phones while on the bike. Regarding the “optimized sound quality is described in the press release of Acer, we have to find the proof. Acer included 6-cell battery, as already Aspire Time 1810TZ. Given the relatively strong for the netbook Acer can promise 5 hours with a good conscience. This is consistent with our expectations due to the excellent battery life 1810TZ, and slightly change the configuration.
